Our daughter Bronagh English died on 24 April 2025, aged eighteen, in a road traffic incident outside Clonmel. Bro AI is what came out of trying to find a way to live with the absence.
What Bro AI is — and what it isn't
Bro AI is not a chatbot impersonating someone you've lost. It will not pretend to be Bronagh, it will not generate words that she didn't say, and it will not invent a relationship that ended on 24 April. What it does do is hold the things she did say — the videos, the voice notes, the stories the people who loved her remember — and let her family and friends return to them, gently, on their own terms.
The voice work is trained from 557 of her own videos. Everything is opt-in for each contributor. The companion is for the bereaved, not for the public.
Why we're building it publicly
Because road safety in Ireland still kills 18-year-olds, and because the families who survive go through this without much help. If Bro AI can be useful to one other family, this was worth building.
