I was born in Tipperary and have lived most of my life in or around Clonmel. The address on the company books — Annerpark House, Waterford Road, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary E91 AX67 — has been the working base for IMPT and Bro AI from day one. That's deliberate.
Why Clonmel rather than Dublin
The largest carbon-emitting industries — travel, retail, energy — are not Dublin problems. They affect every town, every household, every supplier. Working from Clonmel, Co. Tipperary rather than the capital keeps the user we're building for visible. It also reduces the company's own carbon footprint: less commuting, fewer flights, simpler local supply chains for the team.
What's built here
- IMPT.io — the engineering and the climate strategy are run from Clonmel. Suppliers in 195 countries; head office in South Tipperary.
- Bro AI — built in memory of our daughter Bronagh, a young woman from Clonmel who died on 24 April 2025. The launch is dedicated to her, and to the families in our town who have lost children too soon.
- Local employment — IMPT contracts include local engineers and operations roles based here, alongside an international engineering bench.
Tipperary connections
I work closely with my brother-in-law John Walsh at Perenia, a Cahir-based nursery employing around forty people and producing more than a million plants a year — there's a natural carbon-side conversation there that we're slowly turning into something operational.
I also work with Tipperary Live, the local press, on stories that matter to the community — including the campaign for safer roads after Bronagh's accident.
